EJF is a diaconal social welfare organization providing facilities for people with disabilities, children, youth and family services, senior homes, kindergartens, hotels, conference facilities and accommodation for asylum seekers and refugees.

The guiding principle of our bilingual kindergarten in Teltow is immersive learning. The groups of children are led simultaneously by a German native speaking teacher and an English teacher. Both teachers speak to the children exclusively in their own language.

Our children get to experience German and English language in everyday situations: From the daily greeting in a circle, through games, shared meals, as well as singing, handicrafts and physical activities they learn everyday expressions in an international environment.

We are looking for a native English speaking nursery teacher (m/f/div) in part-time (30h/weeks), unlimited contract.

Job description:

Our kindergarten has a capacity for 145 children from age 1 year up to school age. We are located in Teltow, which is South of Berlin.

Your responsibilities will include the introduction and further development of the bilingual concept, which is based on the latest developments in the field of early language immersion learning.

Together with a German teacher you will be responsible for a group of children, including children with special needs, between ages of 2 1/2 and 6 years.

Job requirements:

The ideal candidate

  • is an English native speaker (C2 level)
  • has a qualified pedagogical degree in early childhood education or a similar qualification
  • speaks basic German or has the willingness to take part in a German course

We offer:

  • support with finding accommodation, internal possibilities for further training, internal supervision, as well as collegial exchange and networking within the profession.
  • salary is based on collective agreement (AVR DWBO), which includes pension and other social contributions. It rates all employees solely according to job performance (training, function and experience). Salary includes a “13th salary” is paid, the first half of which is mandatory and will be paid in November, the second will be paid in June of the following year depending on the previous year’s financial returns.
  • employment comes with compulsory health insurance, unemployment insurance and statutory pension insurance. The latter will be supplemented by a company pension scheme.
  • paid vacation time exceeds the statutory four weeks per annum by up to two weeks, depending on seniority.
